James Winslow has been successfully representing people charged with drinking and drugged driving for more than thirty years throughout New York State. In that time, he has helped his clients navigate through numerous changes in the laws that have made as it more and more complicated to defend against these charges. Yet, his success for clients at trial has remained second to no one.

After determining the strengths and weaknesses of a case against his client, he will give his advice about proceeding to trial or negotiating a plea bargain. Whichever avenue a client chooses, he or she gets James' undivided loyalty and effort to achieve the best result.

If you are stopped and accused of impaired (by drug or alcohol) driving, the earlier you contact an attorney for advice and representation the better. An attorney can advise you, by phone, at the scene of your traffic stop about what NOT to do or say. An Attorney can be with you at the police station, after arrest, for any questioning or attempted interrogation. But, most often, it doesn't happen that an attorney is contacted this early in the process- which may often take place when no attorney is available and that is okay. In those cases, it is best to respectfully decline to answer any questions about what you or others did or didn't do until your chosen attorney is actually "present" with you. That is your constitutional right and will be honored by honest police officers.

Most calls that James gets are within several days after an arrest and then, it becomes critical for the arrested person to retain legal counsel before the first court appearance or as soon after that first appearance in front of a judge as possible. )

Initial consultations with James are free. Call (845) 562-0500. James will go to any court in New York State to defend a client.
